Angela “A.J.” McDonald is the Practice Administrator and Case Manager at Boston Center for Memory. She is the former Executive Director of ARTIS Senior Living of Reading, an all memory-care assisted living residence in Reading, MA. She is the Owner & Operator of THE RED BALLOON Dementia & Alzheimer’s Consulting Services, LLC, which serves the Gulf Coast of Alabama and Florida. With over 20 years of experience in the senior care industry, she has served as the Director of Memory Care Services for LCB Senior Living, Elmcroft Senior Living (Mobile, AL), Wingate Healthcare, and Genesis Healthcare. She also serves as Senator Ed Markey’s (D-MA) Ambassador for Alzheimer’s Care for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for the past 10 years where she advocates annually on Capitol Hill for public policy related to Alzheimer’s research and funding. She is a Physical Therapist by trade with a specialization in neuropathology and is board certified, a Certified Dementia Practitioner and a Dementia Care Therapist. She is also a certified Best Friends Approach Master Trainer and a Brass Ring Dementia Practitioner. She is on the Board of Directors for NIDE (National Institute for Dementia Education) and most recently on the Board of Directors for Gulf Coast Dementia Services (AL). She is the co-chair of the Northeastern Alzheimer’s Partnership serving the Northshore and Merrimack Valley area. A.J. is a graduate of the University of Kentucky and Harvard University’s Extension Program.
